In our Love at First Frequency article, among the love stories that were submitted, Noah and Cassidy's love story is our favorite. It isn’t a story about love at first sight, but rather a story of knowing from the start you were meant to be.
An undeniable spark
"Noah and I met through mutual friends in the lively night scene of Okinawa, Japan. After the end of most nights, we would share cab rides home to the same side of town and always felt very comfortable with one another, laughing at nothingness, feeling the ease between us."
We were both seeing other people at the time, yet also felt an undeniable spark between us.
One unforgettable night, the beach was glowing from the city lights with the ferries wheel in the background. It was a scene right out of a movie. The tide was out, so we went to the furthest point walking where the coral reef met the shoreline.. It was breathtaking. We must have walked and talked for hours, yet it seemed like only moments had passed. We talked about everything from music, to families, and religion, covering a million different topics.
And then he made a casual comment “you know we are going to have to get married, right?”
"That was it. Not a dramatic proposal. Not a love at first sight experience. It was as if his comment pierced my heart and at that moment I knew, I was staring at my husband."
The moment I realized I loved him
"After that I just wanted to enjoy his company all the time and wanted his opinion on everything. The moment I realized I loved him was when I realized that after chasing my career and travels, too busy to ever watch TV, I was happy just being alone with him. It didn’t matter if we were on the couch or exploring the world. He was the adventure. Just being alone with him was all I needed."
"We had a small and simple wedding by the ocean and the same coral reef, the night we knew we were meant to be"
Our marriage certificate came out of a Japanese vending machine, yet as long as we were married was all that mattered!
"After moving six times in five years between three states and four countries, having two small children during four of those moves, several major career changes, constant business travel, being married for 7 1/2 years and even through recent quarantine that 2020 brought; I can confidently say that we could not have lasted and grown stronger together...
...if God did not specifically make us for one another and put each other on the right path at perfect timing.
At the end of the day
"My favorite thing to this day is when we get in the car and spontaneously decide to go or do something completely different from what we originally intended to do. I ended up getting my soul mate, my travel companion, and even a TV because at the end of the day, I am watching it with my favorite person in the world."
